Hi everyone I need uregent help please?

Friday, July 31st, 2009

I need to do a static image and my teacher said to ask your friends and family members for help.

Here are some themes that I have selected from the story that we read.

One story was that to not judge a book by its cover. In the story the main person is been discriminated by his friends He then fundraises funds for breast cancer awareness week and manages to collect alot of money with the help of sponsors. He then is been enamoured by his friends and moreover his mum.

The next theme is that we should think before we speak. iN THIS STORY IT SHOWS HOW relationship between young and old generations. In this story a child says that her grandfather would die and he in reality dies.

I am thinking of a symbol which singifies bad omen.

PLEASE HELP AND BEST ANSWER WUD BE REWARDED.

CHEERS!!!!!!

for part 1. you can use a semi opaque ribbon for breast cancer awareness with a picture of a donation drive at work over it.

for part 2. I would suggest using a voodoo doll. It will create a gloomy and supernatural mood.

What is a good gift in memory of a loved one lost to breast cancer?

Friday, July 31st, 2009

A good friend of mine just lost her aunt to a 5 year battle with breast cancer. This is something very dear to my heart as my mother is a breast cancer survivor. Instead of sending flowers/food, I would love to get her family something in honour of her aunt that supports the breast cancer foundation. I’m just not sure as to exactly what I should do. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You can contact the Susan G Koman Org for cancer. They are an org that supports all brest cancer patients and you can make a donation in your friends aunt’s name and present it to her. Another org to contact, would be the cancer foundation of America. Koman is your best bet. Log on to their web site and you will see how you can donate and they will also have a toll free number for you to call them and ask them.
This is so kind of you. God bless you.

how many stages of cancer are there?

Friday, July 31st, 2009

And do people ever ‘bounce back’, or at least survive stage 4 breast cancer?

Most cancers are staged from 0-4 and many have substages such as 2A, 2B, etc. Many patients with stage 4 breast cancer survive 10 years or more, but it is not curable at this point.

What are common signs of breast cancer?

Friday, July 31st, 2009

I just wanted to check myself.
How is this done? What am I looking for?

- I’m 14 years old.
- Obviously a girl!
- My Mum died of breast cancer.
(Does that make me more likely to get it?)

I’m sorry about your mom. The fact that she had breast cancer slightly increases your risk and it means you should start screening exams when you are 10 years younger than she was when diagnosed. Self exams are not recommended at your age. The chance of you having breast cancer is nearly zero. 1.3 in every 1 million 15-19 year old girls get breast cancer. Men also get breast cancer.

Can you help me with ideas?

Friday, July 31st, 2009

Hello…my best friend is finishing breast cancer treatment and will be celebrating her 40th birthday soon. I want to give her a really special gift and need ideas. Since we’ve been friends so long, I have given her a lot of jewelry, photos, and things like that. I’m looking for something unique and special. Can you help me? Thank you!

Something hand made, like a painting or something. She will know it took your time, which is always a good gift.

Help designing a tattoo in memory of cancer battle.?

Saturday, July 25th, 2009

My Uncle died last month of cancer and my grandad 12 years before, i’ve been thinking for a while about getting a tattoo on my lower back. Now though I would like to get something incorporated into it that is a memorial to cancer. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can get, what sort of symbols are there for cancer? The only one I am aware of is breast cancer, looking for ideas.

well I dunno if this helps any but maybe you should get a tattoo more for the memory of your grandad and uncle.
My mom died last november ( cancer unfortunatly) and I recently became old enough to get a tatoo so I had a butterfly with "mom" written underneath it.
My cousin also got a rose for my mom and my aunt got a pheonix.

What are the survival percentage rates for a woman with stage three c breast cancer?

Saturday, July 25th, 2009

She has had a mastectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation. She is currently taking the drug Femara. She is two years into the disease and has had no tumors but still has high tumor markers and uptake in the spine showing on pet-scans.So What do you think her survival rate is?

The 5-year survival rates for stage 3A and 3B are 67 & 54%. However, it sounds like she is a stage 4, which has a 5-year survival rate of 20%. You should know that it is not unusual for stage 4 breast cancer patients to survive 10 years or more. We are better able to manage this disease all the time.

What are the warning signs of breast cancer?

Saturday, July 25th, 2009

just needing to know,thanks.
if you get info from a website ; please, put where you got it from.

thanks.

Early breast cancer usually has no symptoms.

Symptoms of possible breast cancer are:

change in size; one breast may have become noticeably larger or lower

nipple change; if it becomes inverted or changes its position or shape

rash on or around the nipple

discharge from one or both nipples

puckering or dimpling around the nipple

swelling in your armpit or around your collarbone (from lymph nodes)

lump or thickening that feels different from the rest of the breast tissue - BUT remember most breast lumps aren’t cancerous.

Constant pain in one part of the breast or in the armpit - though most people diagnosed with breast cancer have felt no pain.

The biggest risk factor for breast cancer, apart from being female, is age - 80% of those diagnosed are over 50, only 5% are under 40 and fewer than 0.1% are under 30, and it’s almost unheard of in under 25s.

Fight against cancer symbol?!?

Friday, July 17th, 2009

I am looking to get a tattoo. Cancer runs in my family and i am looking towards something to do with that. I am trying to see if there is just a general symbol for fighting cancer, not just a specific one like the pink for breast cancer. I know that the general symbol for cancer is a lavender ribbon which i like as well.. but i would like to find something that symbolizes Fighting cancer…?

Have a special one made. A clenched hand crushing the purple ribbon. Under it you could have some saying. Or a foot crushing the purple ribbon saying "Let’s stomp out cancer" Just a thought
